20 Little Known Facts That Will Make You See Famous Actors Differently

7. Robin Williams' Incredible Mork Audition

It was never any secret that Robin Williams was a gifted actor and comedian who consistently thought outside the box. His breakout role as Mork, first on Happy Days and then Mork & Mindy in the late 1970s and early €˜80s, was beloved by adults and children alike thanks to his sweet depiction of an alien from the planet Ork. Mork & Mindy was carried by Williams€™ improvisational talent, with sections of the script left empty for him to ad lib. Williams€™ audition for the role of Mork definitely demonstrates his raw comedy talent. When going into the audition, producer Garry Marshall told him to sit down. Williams abruptly sat on his head on the chair. After giving him the role, Marshall dryly stated that it was his because €œhe was the only alien who auditioned€.
