20 Little Known Facts That Will Make You See Famous Actors Differently
18. Christopher Walken Was A Lion Tamer
Christopher Walken is another actor who is fairly well-known for taking some eccentric parts, but having gone from lion tamer to world-famous acting treasure is quite a big step. When he was a teenager, Walken worked at a circus after responding to a help wanted ad, feeling that the opportunity was too good to pass up (which is obviously fair enough). Clearly the lion was charmed by young Walkens prettiness (teenage Christopher Walken is a spitting image for Scarlett Johannson, FYI), as he described the animal as dog-like in demeanour. Apparently when Walken would go into her cage waving a whip, she would lazily walk around and maybe roar, as well as being domestic enough to pet. However, spurred on by his mother, Walken eventually decided to become an actor after appearing as an extra in several TV shows under the name Ronald Walken, before changing his name in the early 1960s.
