3. The Mobster Was Originally Sent To Atlanta Penitentiary Prison In 1932... But Managed To Bribe The Guards And So Was Moved To Alcatraz

Incarcerated at Atlanta US Penitentiary at the age of 33 in 1932, Capone quickly set about garnering himself protection and special treatment. Alongside his day-to-day prison job of stitching soles on to shoes, Capone would bribe the guards so that he could have added luxuries not afforded to other prisoners - including a set of encyclopaedias, a typewriter, as well as his own desk and other furniture (pictured above). However, fellow inmates complained that Capone was receiving special treatment and he was instead moved to Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary.
