20 Mind-Blowing Facts About Hillary Clinton

2. Clinton Advised The House Committee On The Judiciary During The Watergate Scandal... And Tried To Have President Nixon Impeached

Richard Nixon Resignation Gif After studying at Yale Law School, Clinton served as a member of the impeachment inquiry staff in Washington DC - advising the House Committee on the Judiciary during the infamous Watergate scandal and subsequent inquiry. The inquiry staff, led by Chief Counsel John Doar and senior member Bernard Nussbaum, researched procedures of impeachment and the historical grounds and standards for such action. The work of Clinton and the committee eventually led to President Richard Nixon's resignation in August 1974, before he could be impeached. Somewhat ironically, Hillary Clinton's husband, Bill, was then impeached while in office - becoming only the second-ever President to be served with the Articles - over the Monica Lewinsky affair.
