The Pulitzer Prize is awarded in the US for achievements in journalism, literature and musical composition - and JFK won one in 1957. Profiles In Courage, supposedly written by Kennedy, is a collection of short biographies detailing acts of bravery or integrity shown by eight US Senators throughout history. JFK was given the Pulitzer Prize for biography in 1957 after authoring the book - although controversy remains, with many arguing it was heavily ghostwritten by his aide Theodore Sorensen.
