3. The 1.7 Million Dollar Rat

Mcdonalds Rat Over the years, customers have complained about finding everything from band aids to wire brushes and used condoms in their meals, but special mention has to be made of what happened when Todd Haley visited his local McDonald's in 2006. An Assistant Coach with the Dallas Cowboys, Haley took home a salad for his wife and live-in babysitter, who quickly discovered that their "healthy option" contained a six-inch long rat carcass. Terrified that they might have contracted a disease, the family complained and were promptly visited by the store's manager, who they claimed "didn't offer any comfort." Filing a lawsuit against the company, Haley pressed for $1.7 million in damages, but subsequently settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.
