19. Pepsi Was Originally Created As A Drink To Aid With Stomachache

Interestingly, the creator of Pepsi was a chemist who worked at a pharmacy in New Bern, North Carolina. Originally, Bradham designed the beverage to be a fountain drink that was both appealing - but that would also aid digestion.

The name change came about due to the fact the recipe for the drink contained the digestive-enzyme pepsin and kola nuts - as well as both sugar and vanilla.
