20 Problems Only People From Sheffield Will Understand
18. Only Being Able To Afford To Eat On Eccy Road With Your Parents
Ecclesall Road is one of the many student havens in Sheffield, along with Crookesmoor and the like. But at least Crookes has the feel of being an area for dirtbag youngsters, with its bountiful supermarkets, takeaways and off licenses. Eccy Road, meanwhile, has ideas above its station and seems to have forgotten what the majority of its population can afford. Wandering down Eccy Road, if you're a student or young person, is torturous. So many beautiful-looking restaurants from The Graze Inn to Mud Crab to, erm, Pizza Express that you could never, ever afford to eat at. Except when your parents come to visit and insist that you go somewhere nice. The rest of the time, though? You're just window-shopping. Or window-snacking.
