And you think being called Smith can be a problem? There are a number of common surnames in South Wales, which can make it difficult to find a particularly person. Evan, Davis, Davies, Williams, there are a lot of them in Wales. Trying to find an old friend with one of those surnames on Facebook or the phone book (do people still use the phonebook?) is going to be a nightmare,

And don't get me started on William Williams, Evan Evans and David Davies - working in a records department for a local health authority a few years ago I saw a lot of those!
