20 Problems Only People From South Wales Will Understand

4. Valley Lines - Sardines In A Single Carriage

Valley Lines trains shepherd people daily from places as far as Merthyr Tydfil, Aberdare or Treherbert to Cardiff and Newport and back again. Which is great for bringing workers and shoppers to the big cities. But considering that it is the main method of transport for so many people, Valley Lines seem to regularly forget to lay big enough trains on.

Quite often running just a single carriage, it can make train journeys from the valleys in the morning - and out again in the evening - an arduous process. Commuters packed like sardines for half an hour or more, clamouring for air as they stand squished against the sweaty armpits of fellow passengers or standing precariously close to the doors every time the train stops and more people climb aboard.

Think the London Underground without any of the speed and efficiency.
