14. Secretly Wishing The Sun Would Explode
There are times when a misanthropes hatred for mankind reaches peak levels. You look at mankinds actions as a whole, at the way we treat our home and each other, and judge ourselves guilty. So unworthy of life are we that you might find yourself wishing for some cataclysmic force of nature to put us in our place. It doesnt have to be anything too prolonged or tortuous, just something quick and painless, like the explosion of the sun or collision with another planet. Its not like the universe isnt out to get us anyway; its quite amazing that weve made it this far in the first place.
13. Knowing With Certainty That We Are Doomed
Upon looking at the constant bickering and lack of cooperation among the nations of the world, it eventually dawns on the misanthrope that we are doomed. So much could and would be accomplished if mankind unified towards a progressive goal, but with so much personal livelihood at stake, it doesnt appear that this will ever happen. Perhaps its for the best. Perhaps our behavior preordains our destiny towards extinction. It certainly seems like it.
