20 Reasons Why Owning A Dog Is Like Having A Toddler

13. They Can Melt You With A Look

It's difficult not to instantly forgive anything with a face this adorable. Just look at those big eyes and those silly ears. No one would guess that this is the face of a serial cat poop devourer.

12. They Get Excited By The Smallest Things

Don't mention the 'W' word to this dog in the vicinity of any breakable objects. It's like saying 'Disneyland' to a 5-year-old. Dogs frantically jump up and down wagging their tails when you offer to take them to the park that they've been to a thousand times, and toddlers get positively hysterical at the possibility of stickers or bubbles.

11. Sometimes They Need To Be Put Behind Bars

Those gates that you can buy to stop children from falling down the stairs or getting into the medicine cupboard are also useful when cynophobes come round for dinner. It breaks our hearts, but sometimes our furry friends need to be put out of the way for a while. It can be difficult for dogs to understand that not everyone wants to be jumped on and licked to death as soon as they walk through the front door.
