Alex Mitchell literally laughed himself to death. Alex Mitchell was a bricklayer who was having a night in with his wife watching a tv show called the Goodies. The comedy show ran in the 70s and 80s and in 1975, Mitchell found one of their sketches just too funny. He was laughing at a sketch of a Scotsman fighting off a black pudding with his bagpipes where he laughed so hard that he died. His wife later wrote into the show thanking them for making his final moments such a merry one.
