20 Strangest Ways That People Have Died

2. Death By Proving Your Point

American Clement Vallandigham died in Ohio in 1871 because he was defending a murder suspect whose case was that the victim accidentally shot himself in the abdomen. Of Course, Vallandigham didn't die from people who were unhappy about him defending the suspect, he died because he was demonstrating how the victim would have accidentally shot himself in the stomach... by accidentally shooting himself in the stomach. He thought that the gun was unloaded and showed how taking the gun from his pocket in a crouched position would cause the victim to accidentally pull the trigger on the gun, except the gun was fully loaded and he died from his injuries. At least it held up in court and the suspect was proven not guilty. However, he did get shot four years later.
