20 Things All Cardiff University Students Will Understand
6. The Thrill Of Welsh Language Signs
The duel-language roadsigns, posters, and leaflets that you initially found confusing will quickily become endearing. This is in spite of the fact that you will, on no less than three occasions, worry that you're having a stroke because you can't understand anything written on a particular sheet, only to realise that you've accidentally picked up the Welsh copy. In fact, you'll soon find that you miss it whenever you return to England. And while you won't master the Welsh language in your time at Cardiff, you will feel immensely proud of yourself for the three phrases you do learn. And you definitely won't mention that you know 'Hoffi Coffee' means 'I like coffee' because that's the name of the cafe by the crosssroads.
With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
