Seriously, Coke is the most-drank beverage across the world for the most part, but there's still a couple ahead of them: namely, coffee and tap water. They're not fussed about the former but there was a period in the early noughties where Coca-Cola ran a H2NO campaign, which was supposed to teach waiters at the Olive Garden to push people towards drinking a carbonated soda instead of natural, healthy water. That's getting a little too close to Idiocracy for comfort...
1. It Was Invented Because Of Prohibition
Whilst the original Coca-Cola did have the secret ingredient of cocaine (sort of), its creation was necessitated by the removal of another substance: alcohol. John Pemberton's original formula for Coca Wine had to be changed because of the repressive prohibition laws so that, ironically, it included an ingredient that's highly illegal nowadays, and wasn't allowed to have something you're probably drinking right now (hey, it's always happy hour somewhere, no judgement). If you want to recreate the Coca Wine taste, you could follow the example of wealthy Chinese people who mix expensive red wines mixed with Coca-Cola and Sprite to make it taste more palatable. Don't, though.
