20 Useless Facts You Probably Didn’t Need To Know
3. Mosquitos Have 47 'Teeth'
As if the prospect of being bitten by a mosquito and contracting a life-threatening illness isn't bad enough, the pesky little sneaks hide 47 razor-sharp edges on that needle-like proboscis stabbing through your flesh too. These can't accurately be called teeth, but they do share a similar use and help the insect feed.
There's no chewing though, obviously. Mosquitos drink blood, so they don't need to chew before they swallow lunch. Those 47 spikes are only there to tear through clothing (or anything getting in the way of lunch time) and skin layers. That's the stabbing pain a person feels when Mr. Mosquito comes round for dinner.
That's it, the only solution is squashing that tiny insect with your stronger-than-concrete thighs.
