7. Parents Needing The Phone When You're On The Internet
The absolute worst thing about the internet back in the 90s was that it used the telephone line to connect. So, unless you had two in your house (which very few people did), you couldn't use the internet and the telephone at the same time. Therefore, whenever someone needed to use the phone (and, remember, mobiles were nowhere near as prominent as they are now), you had to disconnect. In fact, some parents just picked the phone up without asking, disconnecting their kids instantly.
