6. Wishing Every Single Day That MetroLand Was Still There

The MetroCentre is all well and good - and it does draw people to the region who might otherwise only know Gateshead as somewhere you drive past on the A1 - but it's hardly the most fun place in the world. And if you do go there for fun, there's something wrong with you. But back in the golden days when the super-mall first opened, it came complete with MetroLand, a magical place full of joy and only a very slight fear that the rollercoaster was going to fall to pieces and you'd end up hurtling towards Evans at 200mph. Sadly, it's now long gone, having closed in 2008 to make way for the Yellow Mall. Which doesn't even have a ferris wheel.
