Of course, you're meant to know everything anyway, but things get particularly fraught when there's a specific product to up-sell.

Whether it's part of the new range, or an item that hasn't been doing well lately, there's always at least one item that they want you to really push. In the case of an individual chocolate, you need to know the entire ingredient list, describe it in an appealing way even if it is the most God-awful thing you're ever tasted, and point out the three different boxes it features in.

In the case of a larger box, you'll need to do the same thing, but for every single one of the twelve different chocolates inside.

Inevitably, most customers already know what they're looking for when they come in, but they'll let you carry on for at least five minutes before telling you that either a) it's not what they're looking for or b) that they're allergic to the second ingredient on the list. Which is nice of them.

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
