23 Things Only A Chocolate Shop Employee Will Understand

12. Buy One, Get One Free

Ok, so this is fairly universal to most people working in retail, but what makes this an unique problem in a chocolate shop is the range of prices.

A customer may come to the counter with a small bar worth £3 and a box costing £25, and expect the larger one to be free. Somehow, for all its universality, people just don't get that when it's Buy One, Get One Free, it is always, always, the cheaper item that's free.

Add to this the complication that, more often than not, one of the items won't even be part of the promotion, and you'll soon find yourself reaching for that brandy truffle.

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
