At first, the samples are the most exciting part of your job, just because they give you a genuine excuse to actually eat the chocolate. Well, you can't be expected to recommend something you haven't tried yourself, right?

However, the thrill starts to wear off after the third trip to the back room. Constantly cutting bars into identical, bite-sized pieces or arranging individual chocolates into perfect rows of four-by-five quickly loses its charms.

And then there's the endless stream of people who 'cheekily' take two, who clearly haven't washed their hands all day, or who sneeze all over the tray. All of which mean you may never want to eat another chocolate again.

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
