25 Terrible Things That Happen When You Turn 25

7. Your Dream Of Travelling No Longer Looks Realistic

Your friends have been travelling already; either on a gap-year or on a spontaneous year out from their job. But you've done uni, you've got your career sort of sorted, and suddenly you're not altogether sure when your plan to get to Australia is going to materialise. Both financially, and time-wise. With all this other grown-up stuff to pay for, how are you meant to save up enough to take a year away from your job to survive? And how the hell do you explain to your boss that you really just need to take your lifetime supply of holiday in one go so you can return in 12 months time to the security you've spent the first half of your twenties working for? Farewell, dreams of living in Brazil; perhaps you can just nip over there in the summer for a holiday instead.
