10. Bangkok Bombing

A roadside bomb placed at the Erawan Shrine in Bangkok caused serious injury to over 120 people and killing 20 more. The explosion, which took place at the Ratchaprasong intersection in Pathum Wan District, has resulted in the issuing of arrests for 17 people, but with 15 of those still at large.

The motives of the bombers are still unclear, with conflicting arguments of it being either the retaliation of frustrated people smugglers, the act of militants angered by Thailand€™s deportation of Muslim Uighurs to China's Xinjiang province, or supporters of ousted Prime Ministers Yingluck and Thaksin Shinawatra.
