4 Times Harrison Ford Cheated Death (And 4 Times He Was A Hero)
6. The Millenium Falcon Attacks
While it's not exactly aviation related, and he perhaps didn't really "cheat death," the injury Harrison Ford suffered while filming The Force Awakens in June 2014 was originally believed to be much worse than it actually was. When a door on the Millenium Falcon malfunctioned, Ford wound up having his ankle "crushed" by the prop, and was actually airlifted to hospital, where he underwent surgery. Reports initially circulated that the actor's leg had been broken, but doctors actually feared that he had both a broken ankle and possibly a shattered or otherwise injured pelvis. Keeping in mind that at 70+ years of age, those sorts of injuries can be extremely serious, Ford again lucked out - it was just the ankle that was an issue, and after a short surgery he went straight into rehab, and quickly returned to work. Which makes Ford, even is his 70s, a pretty tough guy. And one who clearly took the injury in good humour.
