4 Times Harrison Ford Cheated Death (And 4 Times He Was A Hero)

2. Harrison Ford Volunteers During Forest Fire Season

It's not always the outcome of one's actions that makes them a hero. Sometimes, it's the fact that they're willing to undertake those actions in the first place. With that in mind, Ford deserves a ton of credit for flying volunteer search and rescue missions in the first place, and for that fact that he also volunteers his services during forest fire season. Forest fire season, in many U.S. states, is an extremely busy and dangerous time of year, where rescue choppers are often busy fighting blazes. For Ford to sign up for duty at that time - with little to no fanfare - shows exactly the type of man he is. When asked about his rescue missions, Ford was quoted as saying they have "nothing to do with heroism." Instead, it's "to do with flying a helicopter. That's all."
