4 Times Harrison Ford Cheated Death (And 4 Times He Was A Hero)
3. Ford Rescues A Missing Mountain Climber In Wyoming
A year earlier, in 2000 - the same year that Ford was blown off a runway by a strong wind shear - the Hollywood legend came to the aid of one Sarah George, who had been attempting to climb Table Mountain in Teton County, Wyoming. Stricken by altitude sickness and dehydration, George, who was with a friend, needed to be airlifted off the mountain. After another hiker radioed for help, Ford jumped into action and flew to the site. According to the local sheriff, in volunteering to fly the rescue mission, Ford saved the department $1,000 an hour (the cost of a private pilot). And Sarah George wound up with one heck of a great story to tell: upon being rescued, she vomited in Harrison Ford's helicopter.
