5 Reasons The Wizard Of Oz Is One Of The Most Progressive Books Ever

3. An army of women led by General Jinnur, armed only with vast numbers and knitting needles took over the Emerald City in the space of an afternoon.

4. One witch defeated that very same army by finding the true heir to the throne.

5. The queen of Oz rescued the original girl from a tower prison, then with her help, rescued an entire royal family.

6. Also, a chicken, Billina, saved the day in that story by eavesdropping on a tyrant, and then pelting him with her own eggs.
