5 Reasons Why Living In The USA Rocks For A Brit (And 5 Reasons Why It Sucks)

5 Things That Rock

5. Americans Are Ridiculously Friendly

Casper Gif When you move to the US, the first and most important thing that will strike you is how astonishingly friendly Americans are. They tend to lack the instinctive reserve so common in the UK (apart from up North); indeed, most Americans don't begin to understand it and can often mistake the British habit of reticence for coldness. With this more extrovert nature, Americans are often keen to invite newcomers to any number of social gatherings where even more friendly natives tend to prove that the old stereotype of British accents being attractive is actually entirely true. Of course, every variety of English accent sounds pretty much the same to the average American, with Brummie slang being understandably just as exotic as Cockney dialect; and perhaps only Scottish and Irish accents stand out as immediately different. But you can't hold that against them.
