Easter Island is a place full of mystery and secrets. The iconic Easter Island heads are clear evidence that the land used to harbour an advanced civilization, but there isn't much knowledge about who they were. Though, if we were able to crack this code, we might get more of an eye into them.
In 1868, 26 wooden tablets were discovered, which featured glyphs and language from the Rapa Nui (the indigenous people of Easter Island). These tablets featured images of animals unknown to the region, which picked up a lot of curiosity.
Sadly, thanks to the lack of significant glyphs on the tablets and the restricted knowledge of the Rapa Nui language, the contents have never been deciphered. Hell, plenty of experts highlight that they do not know whether the tablets even represent the language, meaning there's nothing to even start with.
It's believed that the tablets feature knowledge not only about the Rapa Nui themselves, but how their civilization collapsed. So, getting the chance to see what's on there would undoubtedly be an exciting read.
