This year marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.

To celebrate this huge event, from 1st October guests will experience The World’s Most Magical Celebration, an EARidescent 18 month long event.

Cinderella Castle has already had a makeover with a new colour scheme and there will be pixie dust lighting across the castle. Mickey and Minnie are also receiving new iridescent inspired outfits for the occasion.

Although it might be Magic Kingdom's birthday, the rest of Walt Disney World's park will also be celebrating.

The Iridescent glow will be shining at The Hollywood Tower Hotel in Hollywood Studios, firefly lights will come to life on Animal Kingdom's Tree of Life and there will be new lights across Spaceship Earth in EPCOT. The new lights in EPCOT will eventually become a permanent feature in the park.

There might even be a few more announcements left up Disney's sleeve for the 18th month celebration.
