5 Ways To Spend A Day Without Your Mobile
Have you got the strength to take part in Phoneless Friday?
Glued to our fingertips and never out of sight, it is not an exaggeration to say that our mobile phones have become central to our modern way of living. Whether it’s the total addiction to social media, or mastering the art of selfie taking, it is hard to imagine just how we survived without our little electronic friend for company. That’s just what we’re being challenged to do on Friday 7th October however, when world-renowned charity ‘Save The Children’ launches their Phoneless Friday Campaign.
Alongside a donation of £5, for one whole day you’re being asked to undergo the ultimate sacrifice – turn off your phone and attempt to survive in a world with no calls or messages, zero social media, and definitely no mobile gaming.
There is of course no influence more powerful than that of moral support, and that is why you’re also being encouraged to recruit family and friends to the cause - have even more fun and invent some extra rules. In liberating yourself from the incessant bombardment of status updates and online interaction you might find the perfect opportunity to take up or rediscover a new hobby, spend some time outside, or even just reconnect with people and things around you.
Hoping to bring focus to some of the things which we perhaps take for granted, Save The Children are using the campaign to raise money to help the countless number of children and young people around the world still living in poverty and without access to education, safe accommodation, or clean food and water.

5. Play Some Sport
Is Candy Crush your achilles heel? Or perhaps it's Pokemon Go? Either way its time to peel your weary eyes away from your screen, give your thumbs a well deserved rest and swap your game play for some game, set and match play!
Why not try a sport? Tennis is a great example. Not only does it improve your hand eye coordination but it also means you are interacting with at least one other person! The fresh air, the endorphin release and stress you can take out on a tennis ball will energise and relax you far more than any app, and it will probably help that crook in your neck from looking down all day.
