2. Opponents Of Gay Marriage

I honestly am sitting here and I don't know where to begin with this madness. People who are against gay marriage are the type of people I assume would've burned witches back in the day or told an African American to "get in the back of the bus." The true definition of un-evolved or as Miriam/Webster describes it, lacking cultural refinement or not fully developed.

I am sorry if that statement offends, but if you use religion in your arguments against it instead of common sense then it is YOU who are the problem with humanity. Because if you actually sit down and think long and hard about it without retreating back into your religious bubble of misinformation you would come to realize that allowing the gay community THEIR RIGHT to marry has nothing but benefits for the "institution" of marriage.

And I am not even talking about the monetary value that this decision could only benefit society in the long run. The current success rate of "heterosexual" marriage stands at 1 out of every 2. That means half of every marriages ON THE ENTIRE PLANET will end in divorce. Not exactly the grounds to class it an institution that works now is it?

Not only would allowing gays to marry drastically alter this shocking statistic but because they worked so damn hard for this "human right," they are more than unlikely to go for a quickie divorce just because their partner did not live up to some predetermined expectations.

I find it hard to believe that a civilized society can accept the physical and mental abuse caused by various partners whom are stuck in their marriage because of religious beliefs, or a 72 hour celebrity driven union for media exposure, but can't allow two people whom truly love each other but are of the same sex to spend the rest of their lives together under the definition of what is essentially just a piece of paper. I won't even mention forced child marriages as that is simply too easy.

But I guess it comes back to that all encompassing evil that prevents humanity from progressing that makes my number one spot.
