Several scenes from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade were filmed in Petra. 

In the film, The Canyon of the Crescent Moon was the location of the Temple of the Sun which held the Holy Grail. In this canyon Indiana Jones fought a tank-equipped expedition of Nazis. 

In reality, the building called "The Treasury" (pictured above) played the role of the temple housing the Grail. The Canyon that lead to the Temple was the Siq, a 250-foot-high sandstone gap that leads to the entrance of the temple.
