7 Bizarre Conspiracy Theories You'd Probably Never Believe

3. Man Will Never Fly

Similar to the Flat Earth Society, who are dedicated to denying the spherical nature of our planet, there is a community that aims to deny that human beings can fly. Not by themselves of course - there aren't many people suggesting that - but through technology and machines made from metal. The Man Will Never Fly Society was formed in 1959 and is dedicated to furthering the idea that human beings have not mastered flight. While they are not against the idea of flying (as they say themselves: "birds do it, bees do it..."), they are not convinced that humans can climb inside huge engineered forms of transport and fly from one country to another. The problem with this theory is that it's so easy to disprove. So many of us have boarded planes in our time and have looked down from above the clouds at the passing cities and landscapes. How does the society get around that piece of evidence? They believe it's an illusion, and that passengers are being deluded into believing they are flying with the use of cloud scenery. As bizarre as this sounds, it seems the society is legitimately committed to fighting the "illusion" of flight, despite not much evidence supporting their claims coming to light. It also begs the question, what are those plane-shaped things we see going overhead every day? Or those giants machines people can clearly witness taking off from €“ and landing back onto €“ runways at nearby airports?
