7 Harry Potter Characters Sorted Into The Wrong Hogwarts House
5. Gilderoy Lockhart Should Be Slytherin
Gilderoy Lockhart loves one thing above all else: Gilderoy Lockhart.
Harry's second Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher knew very little of the dark arts. Despite being in Ravenclaw, the house that's supposed to love learning, Lockhart views it as a complete waste of time. If it's not directly about him, it's not worthwhile.
In fact, the only spell Lockhart ever learned was the memory charm, which he used directly to his advantage by erasing the memories of better witches and wizards and claiming their accomplishments were his own.
The only magic Lockhart bothered to learn was just a form of manipulation, and therefore he should have been in Slytherin. A Ravenclaw would have bothered to learn every spell in the book, not just memory charms. If only Lockhart could use the memory charm on the Sorting Hat so it could forget sorting him into the wrong house.
