7 Hilariously Batsh*t Things David "Avocado" Wolfe Believes

4. Mushrooms Come From "Distant Planets"

I need to find a better word than “unsurprisingly” as I’m repeating myself but I’m not going to. It fits and it’s working out pretty well so far. Unsurprisingly, David Wolfe is into salt woo and he likes to scare people about chemicals. He demonises Sodium Chloride (table salt) in order to sell Himalayan salt, which he claims "contains the 84 natural elements needed by the body." without providing any supporting evidence for this.

Demonising other products using chemphobia, in order to sell your own products isn’t anything new for pseudoscientists, what else are you going to do when you have no science, no sense and no clue?

Oh, did I mention, he once stated that "The reason the oceans are salty is to hold the water onto the Earth. If that didn't happen, the water would levitate right off the Earth and that would be the end of it."

Or that mushrooms have an "advanced intelligence and consciousness" and their spores can "levitate off the planet" to "get to the centre of the sun". Serious. He has also stated that mushroom spores originally came from "distant planets" and were "carried by cosmic winds or meteors into the Earth's atmosphere". Still serious. Or the highly dangerous cyanogenic glycoside found in Apricot kernels is a cure for cancer?

I hate that I’m being serious.
