7 Mind-Blowing Things We Learned From Joe Rogan's Charles Manson Podcast With Tom O'Neill
1. The Tex Watson Tapes
One of the more infamous members of the Manson family is a man called Tom Watson. Watson is known as one of the main individuals involved in the Tate-LaBianca murders and has been incarcerated since 1971. Although it might seem like there's very little left to do with his case, there's some belief Watson might have information about the murders that we're unaware of.
O'Neill explains to Rogan and the listeners that he was contacted by Watson's lawyer, Bill Boyd, and told that he had sat down with Watson and got the entire story about what happened. From the moment he met Manson, to why the murders happened and so much more, Watson shared everything with his lawyer over 20 hours of conversation.
So why have we never heard them? Well, O'Neill explains that while he tried valiantly to get hold of the tapes, he was denied access by the District Attorney office, despite numerous Freedom of Information Act requests being made.
This truly only a smidgen of the crazy story that happened on this episode of the podcast and if you're fascinated by the Charles Manson story, then we suggest you sit down, give this particular episode a listen and then buy the book because it will leave you even more shocked than the podcast did.
