7 Mind-Blowing Things We Learned From Joe Rogan's Charles Manson Podcast With Tom O'Neill

2. Jack Ruby's Shrink

If you're a fan of US history, then you'll be very familiar with the name Jack Ruby. For those of you who don't who he is, Ruby is the killer of Lee Harvey Oswald, who is known as the man who assassinated the then President of the United States, John F. Kennedy.

While it might seem preposterous that there'd be a link between the murder of JFK and criminal activities of Charles Manson, there are a few rarely spoken about aspects about Ruby's story that lead a to a number of unanswered, yet very interesting questions.

We've already mentioned the MK Ultra program and how they used drugs such as LSD as a means of mind control and there's a theory that Ruby might've been a part of these experiments, following the slaying of Oswald.

O'Neill explains how Louis Jolyon "Jolly" West, a psychiatrist who was part of the MK Ultra program, managed to insert himself into insert himself into Ruby's life and become his shrink while he was in prison. West analyzed Ruby for 48 hours and told the press that he'd lost his mind. However, he had shown no signs of psychosis prior to killing Oswald.

Whether or not his time with West led to him losing mind is up for debate, however, when O'Neill lays out the facts, it's extremely difficult to dismiss it.
