The iPhone 6 runs on the A8 SoC (system on a chip); a 64-bit chip with two cores and maximum clock speeds of 1.4 GHz. While Android phones have been storming on with quad- and octa-core chips, the speed of the iPhone 6 far outdid its seemingly modest specs, and kept up with its rivals. The iPhone 6s is bumping things up to an A9 chipset, which Apple claims will offer 70% faster overall performance, and 90% faster graphics performance. Maybe Apple pushed it a bit by calling it "console-class" - inviting risky comparisons to the PS4 and Xbox One -
