7. Lice Part Two: The Pubes Edition

So, lice making a home in your barnet is bad enough, but getting comfy in your bits is just plain rude.

And that's before you even know where they came from.

You'd think that the lice in your nethers are probably the same as the lice on your head, maybe passed around during some top 'n' tail funtimes, but they're actually a totally different species.

What's even more disturbing is that they're actually more closely related to the species of pubic lice that afflicts gorillas. This means that, at some point, the groins of our ancestors, who by this time were modern homo sapiens, we're in close enough proximity to the groin of ancient apes for transmission to occur. This was about 3.3 million years ago.

We banged gorillas, is what i'm trying to say.

Alternatively, they could have made the jump from humans sleeping in recently vacated gorilla nests, or even wearing their furs but, come on, we know what really happened.
