3. Bill Nye Lays Down Some Truth On UFO Conspiracies

There are plenty of people who are utterly convinced that we are being visited by aliens and, after all, how can we be so sure that we aren't?

Well, we can't be sure that we aren't being visited without our knowledge, but something we can be fairly confident of, is that there's probably no global conspiracy covering up the evidence of alien contact.

Bill Nye (The Science Guy) argues that any government would not be capable of a cover-up that huge. This is bigger than chemtrails, bigger that the assassination of a president, bigger than 9/11. It would be the biggest cover-up in human history, requiring the trust and the silence of literally thousands of people from all over the world. The Clinton couldn't even keep his extramarital affairs hushed up, how do you suppose he'd keep the fact that he's on first name terms with the little green men a secret?

Even if you buy that this magnitude of conspiracy is feasible, it doesn't make any sense with regards to the rest of our space science. If the American government knew that alien life existed, why would it funnel billions of tax dollars into trying to find the merest hint of a fossilised microbe on Mars? Surely that money would be better spent trying to bomb the oil out of the Middle East?
