8 Huge Facebook Parties That Got Totally Out Of Control
4. Gladsmuir Road House Party
If you've ever had, wanted to have or been to a party which was on the down low due to the hosts parents being away then you will understand the plight of our next victim. Christopher Seale just wanted to have a big party while his mother was out of town. What resulted, well, let's just say the sheer money involved in damages is more money than most of us make in a year. 600 people came to Gladsmuir Road, Archway, UK. His mother's one million pound home was trashed, with tens of thousands of pounds worth of damages (equivalent to around $16,000) and an under-aged girl was hospitalised with alcohol poisoning (she's fine now). A skylight was broken because somebody fell on it, apparently only accessible through a second floor bathroom window. An unnamed neighbour described it as "anarchy". Luckily the chandelier wasn't damaged, so there's always a silver lining. There were so many people that there just wasn't enough space in his house for everyone. People were fighting to get through the door and almost being thrown back out into the streets so they could in turn spew on the streets. According to some neighbours the entire street smelt of alcohol and beer the next day. Seale himself isn't all to blame. He invited 60 people privately and a friend put the event up on Facebook on Christopher's behalf and with his consent. This public event then cycled around his local Facebook community to become the incredible feat that it was. The 17-year-old, taking on responsibility, organised the ambulance for the young girl mentioned earlier and prompted the police to come by 10:30. The worst thing is that his mother's last words before leaving for France for the weekend was to "not have any parties". So I guess this is how the one per cent live.
