8 Huge Predictions For Harry Potter And The Cursed Child

6. It's Going To Play Out Like A Detective Story

Or half of it will seem like a crime drama, at the very least. Based on the play's official synopsis, we know that the story will feature both an older Harry and his son Albus Severus in conjunction. We also know that Harry is an employee of the Ministry of Magic, and based on the Deathly Hallow's epilogue it's clear that he's an Auror. Aurors are basically witches and wizards who investigate crimes related to the Dark Arts, and they serve a sort of military/police-like role in the community. It's fairly safe to say, then, that while following Harry's storyline we'll get a glimpse into some of the work he's doing as an Auror. Coupled with the fact that the play's title will almost certainly be applicable to both character's story threads (with Albus's €œcurse€ being that of Harry's legacy), what if Harry's €œcursed child€ actually relates to a Dark Arts related crime or mystery? Some sort of overarching whodunnit or unsolved crime (involving a mysterious child) would be a great way to tie the narrative together and give it structure. It would also be an effective way to carry the narrative between both parts of the play.
