8 Incredibly Strange Religions From Around The World
2. Raëlism
Raëlism is a UFO religion. It was founded by Claud Vorilhon, now known as Raël. It is, by number of followers the largest such religion in the world (unless you count Scientology as one). According to Raëlism, life on earth was created by the Elohim, a group of extraterrestrials who posed as angels and deities in their dealings with early humans. Raël is the most recent (and last) human contacted by the Elohim to prepare us for them so that we are ready for their return. The Raëlists believe that if humanity could free itself from war, we too could go on to create life on other planets. They also believe that humans can achieve eternal life through cloning. One would clone his or herself, age that clone to adult hood, then transfer their mind/consciousness into that new body. They believe that most of the major religions on earth are the doings of the Elohim and have alternate explanations for most major religious stories like Noah's Ark (A spaceship to preserve DNA and recreate animals following the Great Flood, which was caused by the Elohim sending a nuclear missile to earth) and the Garden of Eden (a research lab of the Elohim located on an artificial continent).
I'm very proudly a nerd, which is the quality you'll see most on display here. Star Wars, Doctor Who, and Spider-man are my biggest nerdy obsessions, but I don't like to exclude anything.
I'm also an avid sports fan. My teams are the Detroit Red Wings, Notre Dame, and Detroit Lions. I love playing and watching hockey, but don't get to do the former often enough.
I play some guitar, and love music. That's me, concisely speaking.
