3. The Lion King
One of the greatest, saddest and funniest Disney films, The Lion King would gain a completely different audience had this been how it had went down! A beautiful conversation between father and son, Mufasa and Simba, has been transformed into a talk about the birds and bees that terrifies the young Simba. The fact that Mufasa has lined up every past King to 'take care' of Simba while he's gone is as daunting a prospect as showing this to a child who is in love with this classic film. If a father was only giving his son one piece of advice, 'we'll be here for you' is a beautiful message, whereas the one that has been doctored seems to give a different kind of support to Simba. How thrilled Simba would be by this remained to be seen, especially as he has his childhood sweetheart Nala to keep him company if he's lonely at night, not to mention Timon and Pumbaa. It's one of the great moments in Disney history, which has been made to seem like an absolute filth-festival. This is a shame for the purists, who watched the original in '94, but could stop a lot of crying for brand new audiences, with very few not getting emotional when watching this for the first time.
