8 Innocent Things Made Horribly Filthy With Needless Censorship

2. Spongebob Squarepants

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxJ5d8Kqx-o One of the few shows from my childhood still making original episodes, so to see this means that my inner child has taken something of a beating. Spongebob is a family favourite in many countries, and even his Twitter account has almost a million followers. So to see him making a clone that proceeds to 'interact' with Squidward, and then emblazoning him with a mysterious symbol is something of a turn up for the books. And with his liking for people's butts, Mrs. Puff's friend isn't much better. Spongebob holds a similar mystery as Bert and Ernie, how old is he? Is he a child, or simply an immature grown up who just wants to be happy? If he is a child then he's quite experienced as you see from 2:40 onwards. By the use of censorship you see Spongebob transform from an innocent prankster, into a menace to his neighbour Squidward, who just wants some peace and to play his Clarinet. His clone isn't much better, with a lot of censoring needed to cover up what he does to said neighbour. The first part sets the tone, with a 'mom joke' which turns dark by referring to what he does with his mouth. It's difficult to know which is more ridiculous, a children's character with a chequered sexual past and foul mouth, or the concept of Sea Bears.
