8. Kylie Jenner Believes in Chemtrails

You know those white trails in the skies left by planes? Well, depending who you talk to, they're probably responsible for a lot of bad things in the world.

"Chemtrail" conspiracy theorists believe that these white lines are actually the result of a government scheme that sprays unidentified chemicals into the atmosphere for unspecified reasons.

So, in the spirit of scientific enquiry, we're going to have a go at answering some of Kylie's questions.

Why did I see 75 planes spraying white stuff into the sky on my 15 minute drive to work?

Well you see, Kylie, you live in Calabasas, which is a mere 35 miles from LAX - the third busiest airport in the United States - so this means that there will often be planes in the sky near your home.

Does this have anything to do with why Honey Bee's are Dying off really fast? Is something being exterminated here?

Unless this is a really inefficient way of spraying pesticides onto our crops, no. Although the bee population is declining in part due to climate change, and planes use fossil fuels, so perhaps indirectly.

Unfortunately, Kylie failed to ask what the "white stuff" actually is which could have cleared up literally every other question. These are actually "contrails" made up of water vapour that condenses out of the air and freezes around aerosols in the atmosphere due to the change in air pressure cause by the plane's wings. There we go.
