When 16-year-old Kevon Watkins was picked up from school on 2 February 2018, he was reportedly in a terrible mood. So, like a lot of kids his age, he tried to relax by playing some Xbox - and this is where his evening took an unbelievably dark turn.

Angry that his console was experiencing slow internet speeds, Watkins decided to change the wi-fi password so nobody else could use the network. Understandably, this annoyed the other members of the household, including his 20-year-old sister, Alexus, leading to a family argument.

For the vast majority of siblings, this would obviously be a simple enough argument to resolve, but here, the confrontation had a much more violent outcome.

Kevon and Alexus ended up fighting, which led to Kevon grabbing her in a choke hold and restraining her for close to 15 minutes. In fact, he still had her in this choke hold when the police arrived, and though attempts were made to resuscitate her, she was pronounced dead later that evening.

Reportedly, Kevon changed the wi-fi password quite a lot, with little to no consequences. This time though, his family refused to stand for it, which spawned the violent altercation, and resulted in Kevon being sentenced to life in prison.
