Fergus John Glen and his brother, Craig, had been feuding for quite some time before Fergus decided to murder him with an axe. So what was the final straw that pushed him over the line? Well... a compliment. Or rather, the lack of one.

On 7 March 2003, the pair attended a family meal - which was cooked by Fergus - at their parents' house. Afterwards, everyone in the house went to bed, except Fergus, who had a few drinks in front of the telly. While he was sat there, he grew angrier and angrier, eventually deciding to head into the basement, pick up an axe, and hack his sleeping brother to death. Almost all of Craig's blood was drained from his body.

Reportedly, the reason why Fergus grew so angry was that Craig hadn't thanked him for cooking their dinner. It's unknown what went on between the two men in the years leading up to the murder, but it's thought that this mealtime incident was the tipping point that sent Fergus into a blind rage.

Later in 2003, Fergus pleaded guilty in front of a New Zealand court, and was sentenced to a lifetime term, with a minimum of ten years.
